Tainted Honor

"I don't know." I stayed behind Daniel, putting his body between Josh and I. Why was he slamming things? "It's happened before I just never said anything."

"That's happened before?" He asked calmer. "When? How many times?"

"They started back at Casabas." I looked away. "I'd start breathing really fast and eventually pass out. It happened when I got really scared. Then they sorta stopped and I thought they went away..."

"Thanks babe." Jaxon kissed the top of her head.

I walked back downstairs, smiling. "Videos deleted."

"Nice." I laughed, wrapping my arms around her and Yawning.

"No problem." Chloe smiled, leaning into his arms.

"we should go to bed." I whispered, my head on his shoulder.

"Night guys." I nodded to them, then led Harley upstairs and to our bed. I put my phone on a charger, then pulled my shirt off and laid down next to her.

I did the same with my phone, changing into pj's and crawling into bed. "Hey Daniel?" I asked softly. "Can I ask you something?"

"Yep." I looked at her, wrapping an arm around her body to pull her closer. "What's up?"

I laid my hands on his chest, sighing. "You're always so tired." I looked up at him. "This city is slowly killing you."

I didn't meet her eyes. "What's the question?" I sighed.

"I'm worried about you." I sighed. "Talk to me? Maybe you should let somebody else lead for awhile. Josh maybe. Just let some of the stress roll off."

I turned to look at her. "You?" I raised an eyebrow. "And Josh. But you as the head of it all?"

"Me?"I shook my head, confused. "What am I supposed to do? I don't even have friends."

"You'll make them. Plus the council we kinda set up will help." I smiled.

"Daniel.." I trailed off. "I was also hoping we'd have more time together by this. I didn't want to say it but I get jealous. And lonely. Josh and you are always out doing fun things then I'm just here looking after the horses. Seeker misses you too by the way."

"Your right though. I need the time off." I sighed. "Please?" I looked at her, trying to read her face. I didn't realize how much time i spent away from her.

I sighed, my head falling to his chest. "Okay." I kissed his chest. "I'll do it."

"Thanks." I smiled, kissing the side of her head. "Love you."

"One other thing." I looked back up. Now or never and it's just better to get it over with. "You're gonna be a dad... again." I smiled, trying to read his face.

"Harley.." I laughed, then my face dropped. "It's not April."

"I know." I said quietly. "I'm serious."

I didn't really know what to do. I thought I wanted another kid but then I didn't and the stress of it all was just.. I laughed lightly, hoping i didn't sound TOO sarcastic. "Great.." I trailed.

"You hate it don't you? You hate it already?" I pulled away. Shaking my head. "I'll give it away if it means the kid not being hurt."

"Don't give it away." I sighed. "Night Harley."

"Daniel please." I jumped. Getting to where I was literally on top of him. "Please don't do this to me. Talk to me please. I.. you promised."

I jumped, startled. "What the hell did I promise?" I spat out.
