Tainted Honor

"Huh." I mumbled softly, kissing his neck. "You said do what I enjoy."

"I know I did." I laughed. "Can you enjoy dress shopping?"

I rolled my eyes, digging through the dresses. Paying no attention to the prices, digging through I found a ball-gown .. ish dress. I shrugged, not bothering with going to a room to put it on, and slipped off my clothes, working the dress on next. I pulled it back off quickly. It showed way too much of my shoulders. I knew, unless I wanted to look like a prude, there was nothing I could do to hide my arm scars, but the ones on my shoulders I could. I dug around some more, trying on a few other dresses, finally settling on a mermaid style gown. There was a veil I could use to cover my shoulders, and the more I thought about it, I realized Daniel would be the only one close enough to probably see them and he already knew they were there. Usually, I knew I wasn't supposed to show him. But you were usually victimized by a zombie apocalypse or sold into human trafficking. "what do you think?" I asked playfully.

I turned around, in a suit I was trying on. It fit best out of all the ones I had tried. "Woah." I looked at her, smiling. "I mean. Since theres other people you have to wear something and this is.. I love it." I smiled. "But if it was just us you wouldn't have to wear anything."

"We can save the birthday suit ness for later?" I laughed. "And I take back my statement about you being sexy in a tee. I think you're sexy in anything you put on."

"Thank you." I laughed. "I try hard." I wrapped my arms around her.

I laid my head on his chest, sighing contently. "Don't let go. Please." I whispered. I just wanted to feel his warmth right then, the rest of the word seeming to disappear around us.

"I won't." I smiled, securing my arms around her, kissing her forehead. I knew my hugs helped her.. for some reason.

I leaned on him in the silence for a few minutes, debating with myself on whether to say anything about them or not. Ending with the thinking I could tell him anything. I didn't look up, I didn't have to really. I could picture his face just on the tone in his voice. "You can see them still." I said quietly. "I try to forget but then they slap me in the face again."

"Don't worry. I have some too. And these ugly tattoos." I sighed. "None of us are perfect. But that's okay because we love eachother." I smiled.

"Those tattoos aren't ugly." I looked up, putting my palms on his cheeks. "Nothing about you is. I wouldn't be standing here right now without those tattoos. That makes them beautiful."

"Yeah but they look ugly." Her palms were hot on my cheeks, and I looked down to avoid looking at her.

"I don't think that." I let go of his face, pressing my cheek against his chest. "I couldn't count how many nights I sat thinking of those tattoos. How I knew they'd come to pull me to safety."

"Well. If you like them then i guess I should, right?" I laughed softly. Kissing her forehead.

"Yeah." I smiled somewhat, looking up at him. "I really hate this but we should probably get back."

"Yeah." I pulled the suit off, changing into normal clothes and putting the suit into a bag.

I unzipped it, sliding the dress into a bag and then putting it in an empty suit case I found. I stopped right before we left, checking behind the register for anything useful. Finding an iphone.. and it's charger. We had electricity back at the house. "daniel!" I yelled, trying to get him back here. "Look what I found." I laughed.

I walked over, laughing. "Thats useless. no one else will have one." I kissed her cheek. "Nice find though." I smiled.

"They do more than text." I laughed. "If anything it's actually got books on here and I can read. While I'm making.. 'Friends.'" I laughed, throwing it and the charger down in the suit case anyway. Tying it onto the saddle and walking outside, riding back to town.

I rolled my eyes and followed her, walking into our house. I hung up my suit in the closet. I couldn't believe it actually worked out. Everything, really.

I hung my dress up too, throwing the phone on to charge. It somehow lit up, clear it was at least somewhat still working. 

I planned for the rest of that month. It was fall anyway, and since the leaves were bright oranges and reds, we had it outside. Jaxon had came and helped when he could, building an arbor and some seating. I made a couple of friends, like he'd asked, having Chloe as my maid of honor, and then just two others as bridesmaids. The red head, who I found her name to be Emma, and Jennifer. I had Daniel's ring too. I'd slipped out one night to go in search for it. Hardest part was getting back in the gates. I had already done my hair, had the dress on, and was working on make up. We'd found some leftover, still usable make up and decided to use it. Chloe was in here with me getting ready, and to say I was nervous was an understatement. My hands were shaking, along with my legs. My heels rattling on the floor.

"Your gonna be fine Harley." Chloe smiled, sitting by her. "What are you most nervous about?"

I was in a different room with Josh and Jaxon. "Josh this my brother Jaxon, Jaxon this is Josh." I laughed. passing time. I was nervous too.

"This." I looked at her. "All of it. What if I fall? Mess up the Lines? Drop the ring." I breathed quickly, pressing my back up against the wall to try to calm down. "I know I shouldn't but can I see Daniel? I want to see him.."

"Aye." The both said at the same time, soon laughing.

"He's probably getting ready too." Chloe tried to comfort her. "You'll be okay." She smiled.

I laughed, leaning against the wall. Tapping my foot nervously, running my hand through my hair repeatedly.

"He takes like.. no time to get ready." I put my hands behind my head. "He's probably just waiting on me."

"Okay so." Jaxon dug the ring out of his pocket. "One of us walks Harley. Right? I've never heard her mention her dad. I'm guessing he's dead though."

"I can walk her." Josh looked at the ring. "Damn boy where did you find that?"
