"I don't know I was laughing." Jaxon laughed. "Anyway you all go on and have fun unless you want me be around much longer..." He smirked as he looked at Chloe, really just wanting to be alone. Sex would just be an added bonus.

"We're just talking. Go do.. whatever." I laughed, leaning back.

"*cough*eachother*cough*" Alec smirked.

"Shut up." Jaxon slapped Alec on the back of the head. "I still outrank you around here anyway so .. fuck off." He laughed.

"Okay whatever." He laughed. "Say something if what I said about you two doing eachother is incorrect."

I looked around at them, sighing. Wishing they'd stop soon.

"Yeah well." Jaxon tugged on Chloe's hand, walking towards his bedroom. "Shoo. The rest of you. Daniel don't you have somebody to love upstairs anyway." He said it innocent, oblivious to what had happened this morning, closing the door behind himself.

"No!" I yelled through the door. "I don't." I shook my head, rubbing my face.

"What." He poked his head back out. "What happened?"

"Harley ran away." Josh shrugged. "Left this morning apparently."

"Daniel I'm sorry.. I didn't mean.. I wasn't trying to hurt you." He looked down.

"Just." I waved it off. "Have fun with Chloe." I pat his shoulder, turning and walking up to- I guess no longer our- my room.

He closed the door again, walking towards Chloe and brushing the hair off her face, kissing her gently. "I'm sorry it took me so long to realize I needed you." He dropped his hands to her hips, squeezing softly.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to realize your perfect." She kissed his neck. "Just the way you are."

"I'm not perfect baby." He kissed her neck, relaxing slowly to her touch. "You know what I've done. I'm far from perfect."

"Your perfect to me though." She fumbled with the button on his jeans. "That's all that matters right?"

"Excited are we?" He laughed, pulling her onto the bed with him and making up for lost time.

So I stayed gone longer than a week. It cleared my head and I still didn't feel like going back. Most days I just laid by the shore, watching the water. And the people on the water. The idiots that swam out too far to push the current. Didn't they realize how strong the current was? I'd fallen asleep near the tide that night, the water nearly up to my body by now. The sun was fading fast and the cold would wake me up soon enough.

I got out of my car, shutting the door behind me. The breeze off the ocean blew gently, the sky dark but lit up slightly by the moon. I'd driven down from Toronto overnight. I was wearing semi-nice clothes actually. A navy blazer. I had the ring in my pocket, and I thought I was ready. Nervous as hell, but ready. I had to ignore the little part of me that was broken, discouraged, and beaten down due to her not coming back like she said she would. I tracked her down and now was when I was going to find out if she even still cared about me.. cared about us.. or not. I locked my car, walking onto the beach and spotting her, asleep. Walking over, I pulled her out of the tide and onto drier sand.

I felt my body being dragged and snapped awake instantly - thinking somebody was taking me. Okay maybe my nerves were a bit fried after being kidnapped and raped multiple times and thrown back into WWII by Daniel's old boss. I stopped fighting the second I realized it was Daniel, my breath frosting in the air. "Hey." I didn't know what to say.

"Hey." I sat down by her, taking off my blazer itself and wrapping it around her shoulders for warmth. "Spend a day at the beach?"

"Yeah." I rubbed the sand off me, telling myself it was okay to breathe. "I'm sorry.. I know I said a week.. I just.. I didn't feel ready." I said quietly.

"What do you mean you weren't ready?" I looked at the water, my eyes watery but I wasn't going to cry. "Weren't ready to see me again?"

"Yeah it wasn't you." I sighed. "I uh. Chloe texted me about their engagement." I swallowed hard. "I shouldn't of put you in that spot either. I wasn't ready to face myself."

"I just feel really alone without you." I looked down. "Back at the house we make it a thing now. Every morning we all get up at the same time and eat breakfast, then work. Then, unless we have a run that night, work stops at 9 and we hang out after that." I sighed. "Jaxon always has Chloe by his side and the others are happy alone. I feel like the third wheel and I feel like I don't have a place in someone's life. I kept thinking you weren't gonna come back because you were finally free." I shook my head. "I never want to feel that way again." Taking a deep breath, I got up on one knee, pulling the ring out. "Please Harley. I need you to save me. But you can only do it if you come home and never leave again. Will you marry me?"

I felt tears in my eyes. No hell more than just my eyes. My cheeks were wet too. I nodded, unable to speak. I felt like my heart was in my neck and if I tried to speak I'd suffocate. I put my hands over his, squeezing his softly to try to stop my own from shaking.

"Your okay." I realized I was shaking too, laughing softly as I slid the ring onto her finger and stood up, pulling her into my arms. "I love you."

I fell against him, still shaking. "I love you too." I said quietly, kissing his shoulder. It was where my head landed.

"Please don't leave." I whispered, kissing her neck and rubbing her back.

"I won't." I smiled softly. "I promise I wont."
