Not All Angels Have Wings

Brandon laughed. "You gonna be okay big boy?" he smirked at Jaxon.

"Yeah I'll be okay. What about Daniel?" Jaxon sat up, wincing slightly.

"tired but otherwise okay." I smiled again. "Thanks for telling Kevin to come get me. I thought Daniel was in his car .. when it.."

"Don't think about it too hard." Jaxon smiled too.

Kevin leaned back. "Well. Josh and Daniel both lost their prized cars. But Daniel won the race." He shrugged.

"And the prize money." Jaxon pointed out.

"How much was that?" I asked.

"50 grand. Not near enough to replace the cars but it helps." Jaxon sighed. "Hell that won't even touch the hospital bills."

Kevin sighed. "How much we thinking the hospital bills will come out to?"

"Short of a quarter mill if we're lucky." Jaxon sighed. "We should have the money. It'll just be tight. Josh is gonna be in ICU for several days.. Daniel won't be cheap either. Hopefully the insurance helps."

"Quarter of a million? Plus the car damages and the monthly bills we already have to pay? We're talking at least half a million at this point." Kevin rubbed the back of his neck.

"We have our cars still. We can use those." He sighed. "My vette isn't slow and neither is your Porsche. Then we still have Braydon's impala." he paused for a moment. "Basically I'm saying we don't replace the cars right away. Maybe try to sell off some girls-"

"Do you have to?" I looked over at him. "I have 8 grand still on my account.. and a job. I can try to make more money.."

"It's either that or we loose our house. Unless you care to be bait.." Jaxon thought for a second. "Yes that'd work.. really well.. now we gotta get Daniel to agree to it."

"Bait?" I looked over at him, eyes wide. 

"Yes Bait. Like what you use to catch a fish. We'll bloody you up a bit and make Drake think he can kidnap you. Because believe me. He will. He wants to get back at Daniel anyway. Well the rest of us come in and steal all of his shit. I know a chop shop I can drop his car off at."

"No. Jaxon." Kevin looked at him. "We don't know that would even work. Honestly, it probably wouldn't. And trust me Daniel would never agree to that."

"I'm up for it if it means you won't sell anybody." I looked down. "I trust Daniel at least."

"See?" Jaxon laughed. "She agrees to it. Here's what I'm thinking. We set Drake up for a little meeting saying we'd like to discuss something but just leave her tied up in a chair.. we'll throw a tracker in her jacket too. That way we won't loose her. And we'll be right outside anyway. He'll think he has leverage on us then we all storm in from behind and rob him blind. He can't run to the cops exactly. What would he claim we stole? His coke?"

"Daniel will never agree to it thats the only problem." Kevin sighed. Looking between Harley and Jaxon.

"I'll work on Daniel. Harley.. you're tired. Go sleep." Jaxon said softly. 

I got up, soon leaving the room. 

Drake had slipped in, grabbing a pillow and ripping off Daniel's oxygen mask, trying to suffocate him under it.

I snapped awake when i felt my breathing falter, squirming under the pillow and trying to push it off. Also trying to get a grip on his wrists but I couldn't.

I heard a chuckle, sounding like it came from Daniel's room. Something just told me something was wrong. I sprinted down the hall, flipping the lights on and grabbing Drake from behind, ripping him off Daniel just with my weight. He was stronger than me though and didn't fall over. I screamed once, feeling my body slam to the ground. The wind being knocked out of me.

Both Kevin and Brandon looked at each other, getting up and running to my room. Kevin grabbed Drake by the shirt, dragging him out and with Brandon's help, dragging him outside before punching him. "What the hell?"

I coughed and sat up, catching my breath and shaking my head. "H-Harley you okay?" I half gasped.

"Yeah." I scrambled to my feet, leaning over him and making sure he was okay. "Baby you need to lay down." I said quietly. "I'm more worried about you being okay than me."

"That crash was supposed to kill him!" Drake snapped.

I shook my head, looking up at her. "Did he hurt you?" I coughed, running my hand over her cheek gently.

"Ah Drakey boy." Kevin laughed. "That's another night's fun." He pat him on the back.

"No baby." I kissed his hand. "Promise. I had the wind knocked out of me. That's all."

He saw a chance to bolt, and he took it. Punching Kevin in the face and making a run for it, slipping into his car and speeding off.

I nodded, taking a breath and laying back down, pulling the pillow back under my head.

"Bye Drake!" Brandon waved, walking back in with Kevin. Going to Daniel's room. "You two okay?"

I nodded, looking down at Daniel and smiling a little. "We're both fine. Thank you though."

I had turned onto my side as best i could, trying not to get tangled up in the cords. I closed my eyes to try and sleep again.

Drake seemed to stay gone after that. Luckily. I'd stayed up a lot each night making sure he has okay. Turk and Jaxon got out first, then Daniel. Well. He was leaving today. Josh was told to stay but he was leaving today as well, wanting out of there. Jaxon agreed to help him, and I was helping Daniel. Kevin's car was parked out front as well.

I reached up and felt my forehead, one of the places where I'd gotten stitches removed. I had a few removed on my back, and the doctors thought my little wing fiasco scars were from this. I had to explain they were just scars. Anyway, I was walking out of the hospital right now with Harley, squinting. "God damn the light." I stepped back into the safety of the hospital.

I laughed softly, pulling the sunglasses off my head and gently slipping them on his face. "Little girly but oh well."

"Too girly." I pulled them off, putting my hand over my eyes to shade them, walking to the car and getting in, leaning back and sighing.
